Strappy Active Bra
A sleek sports bra with low-impact construction and tank straps, detailed with a lime strappy back and a built-in bra. Contrary to what you may think, there are no muscles in the breast – only the skin & the delicate Cooper’s Ligaments support the breast tissue. Once the ligaments have been stretched beyond their limit, as a result of breast movement during exercise, no amount of toning exercises can restore them. Unsupported breasts during exercise can have two key negative impacts – breast pain and irreversible breast sag.
Regardless of size, all active women need to wear a sports bra as unsupported breast movement can be as much as 4cm in A cups and up to 14cm in G cups. Research shows that breast movement is reduced by only 38%** when wearing an ordinary bra but a shock absorber sports bra reduces breast bounce by as much as 78%*** so it is twice as effective as a normal bra.
Sports Bras can seem a bit more expensive than your everyday bras but it’s because they are designed and constructed using special fabrics that remove perspiration from your skin, keeping you dry to help prevent any uncomfortable chafing.
Beware that your sports bra will need replacing when it stops offering the same support as when you bought it. This might be as often as every few months if you are using it regularly.
Workout Leggings
The breathable and absorbent material of the leggings makes it perfect for working out. Made out of 100% cotton the leggings are also very comfortable and stylish, capable of going with many different outfits! The best part is that one size fits all!
The clothes also are thought to refine proprioception, which is a person’s sense of how the body is positioned in space. Better proprioception should, in theory at least, improve the efficiency of movement and reduce the number of muscles that need to be activated, making exercise less tiring.
Meanwhile, the clothes also are believed to reduce fatigue and soreness after exercise by literally squeezing the muscles with a kind of massage and, by increasing blood flow to muscles. They also help in flushing out unwanted exercise-related bio-chemicals.
Based on the results of this study, lower-leg compression sleeves are unlikely to improve endurance during a running performance.
INOV8 Fastlift 335 Women’s Weightlifting Shoes
“How would these shoes help me lift more weight?”
In a couple of simple ways: First, if you can generate more force through the ground you can pull the bar higher. If you can pull the bar higher, you have more chance of getting under it. Also, when you are under the bar, you can drive hard out of the squat knowing your shoes, being your contact point with the ground, are transmitting as much as possible of the force you are creating up from the floor, through your body, and into moving that barbell.
The results show that using weightlifting shoes means maintaining a much more upright torso during the squat. Weightlifting shoes decrease forward lean considerably, compared to running shoes. Forward lean increases shear forces on your lumbar spine, so being able to maintain an upright torso is a huge advantage for athletes who are injury-prone or limited in mobility.
Weightlifting shoes also showed greater activation of the quads. This is a pretty well-understood and accepted facet of using weightlifting shoes and high bar back squat technique. However, after my experience above, I decided to try weightlifting shoes with a low bar technique. Yes, it sounds crazy, but it felt pretty good. I set my current squat PR using weightlifting shoes and a low bar technique.
New Balance 811 Mid-Cut Trainer
“Built for performance, but cute enough to wear every day.”
The women’s 811 mid-cut training shoe is up for anything: a sporty look for the weekend or a tough training at the gym. It has all the features you love about the original women’s 811 shoes, plus added ankle support that allows you to push even harder.
This shoe is perfect for strength-training workouts in the gym because it provides a stable platform for resistance training, plus a ton of lateral ankle stability for those balance-training moves. They’re comfortable, lightweight, and perfect for warm-ups, interval runs, stair-climbing workouts, or even outdoor beach cruising on my bike. It’s a common misconception that mid-cut hiking boots (with a higher ankle cuff) have the sole purpose of providing extra ankle support.
The differences between mid-cut boots and low-cut shoes are many and varied.
Firstly, let’s not ignore the fact that mid boots do provide some extra ankle support (which certainly comes in handy if you’re carrying a heavy backpack on your back, which raises your centre of gravity and makes you more likely to over-balance).
But mid boots also provide other features such as extra ankle protection from cuts, grazes, and bruises which are all too common if you venture off a well-maintained trail. They’re also more efficient at keeping feet dry if the trail is inches deep in mud or slush.
Comfortable Socks
You showed up to the gym without your moisture-wicking socks; now what? If you are lucky enough to be wearing a regular pair already, you’re just going to have to be the girl on the treadmill in her trouser socks.
But if you showed up in a pair of peep-toe wedges, sans socks, it’s time to change your strategy. While you can wear your shoes without socks, you’re likely to get blisters if you choose any sort of high-intensity workout — especially if you sweat a lot! To avoid stinking up your shoes and getting a bunch of blisters, choose to strength train for the day. Or, better yet, opt to take yoga.
Waist Trimmer Belt
You’ve no doubt heard the saying “if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.” This adage applies to trimmer belts, devices worn around the midsection to melt away belly fat. Unfortunately, wearing something around any area of the body won’t help you lose weight.
Trimmer belts are elastic girdles — for lack of a better term. Before your workouts, you bind your waist with the belt to trap in heat. The heat increases your body temperature, which leads to better weight-loss results, according to the manufacturers. They’re made from a variety of materials, but the most common is neoprene, a synthetic rubber.
